My Story

With 30 years of experience in the hairdressing industry, spanning working in a number of salons, barbershops, and offering mobile services as a freelance stylist, I decided, several years ago, to turn my scissors to the art of fitting male hair systems.

In 2022 I opened my private salon in Risca, Newport, South Wales, where I offer fitting on a one to one basis in discreet, private premises. Since then I have had the privilege of transforming the lives of many, many gentlemen, aged from 18 to 95! I take pride in providing personalised hair system services and enhancing my clients' confidence. It gives me great pleasure to hear my clients' positive feedback and to know I have played a role in their self confidence journey.

Having fitted hundreds of systems, and positively impacting so many lives, this is truly a passion for me!

what are the causes of hair loss?

Hair loss is a common concern, with individuals losing between 50 to 100 hairs daily, typically within the range of normalcy. However, some men may experience excessive hair loss which can be distressing and may lead to emotional challenges. Various factors contribute to hair loss, understanding these causes is essential for addressing the issue effectively and seeking appropriate treatment options.

Alopecia is occasionally the cause, where hair loss can be permanent or temporary, This can be brought on by an illness, an operation, stress, weight loss or an iron deficiency.

If you have any concerns that you may have Alopecia or have lost hair for any of the above reasons, or have any sign of infection, we would advise you to seek advice from a medically trained professional.

Male pattern baldness (MPB), also known as androgenetic alopecia, is a common form of hair loss that can begin early as the teenage years. It is characterised by a gradual thinning and receding of hair, typically starting at the temples or crown of the head. As individuals age, the progression of MPB can lead to significant hair loss, impacting both appearance and self-esteem.

Hair loss can be a challenging journey, often prompting individuals to explore various solutions. While products like hair fibres can effectively mask thinning areas in the early stages, others may opt for changing their hair style to disguise the loss.

So, What is a hair system and is it right for me?

A hair system is wig made of 100% human hair (unless it has grey content, which is usually synthetic) and covers the thinning or hair loss area. It is matched to your own hair colour, fitted using either adhesive or tape, then cut and styled to your desired style and requirements. They are undetectable and imitate natural hair so that you can feel safe in the knowledge that no one is aware that you're wearing one. The confidence it gives wearers really is life changing, so if you feel that your hair loss is holding you back and getting in the way of you living your best life, then yes, the chances are that a hair system really could be what you've been looking for!

How is a hair system fitted?

The process begins with the careful removal of thinning hair using clippers, followed by creating a bespoke mould to fit the specific area. The hair system is precisely cut to match the mould size and securely attached to the scalp using high-quality adhesive or tape. Finally, your existing hair is expertly styled alongside the system, resulting in a flawless and seamless look.

I'm too far away from the salon - what can I do?

Many clients are happy to travel a fair distance to the salon for a personal, professional fitting experience, however.....

If it's more convenient, we offer an option to purchase a system from our online shop, allowing you to fit it yourself or take it to a salon local to you for fitting.
